Color lithographs; b/w photos; Large 8vo 9" - 10" tall; Stout 8vo in original 1/2 leather and marbled paper boards. All edges gilt. Two works bound together, each with unique title page. Part I: "Diseases of Poultry," by Leonard Pearson, 116pp. ; Part II: "Enemies of Poultry," by B. H. Warren, xxiii pp. , 749pp. Illustrated with 95 vibrant color lithographs, primarily of native PA birds, along with woodcuts of bird and poultry pests, skeleton structure etc and some photographs; a large folding chart laid in. Contents clean and neat, but the binding is shaken and the leather spine is faded and tenuous - though generally complete. A few mild internal splits. As with most existing copies of the book the heavy weight of the page stock of this stout volume has weakened the integrity of the binding. Would be greatly improved with a simple rebacking. Contents clean and neat. Save for some mild splits observed in the folds of the large folding chart. Prior ownership name stamp to front endpage. A notable color plate bird book. G++ ... Oversize book may require additional charges for expedited or international shipping.
